Smilin’ Your Way…
I am way excited. Stoked even. Pumped. Amped. Exhilarated. You know that feeling of having waited for something for so long that you are actually excited to numbness. Disbelief. In my mind’s ear I can already hear the guitar chords summoning my heartbeat. My face is brushed by the almost imperceptible chill in the mid-morning October breeze. My smile won’t quit. There is life like I haven’t felt in a long time. I will laugh. And cry. And sing with eyes closed and body swayin’. My breath catches as I fight feeling overwhelmed – overwelmed by sheer delight.
Here I am to worship.
At my church.
NewSpring Florence debuts this Sunday (October 19) at 10:30 at the McNair Science Bldg Auditorium on the campus of FMU. Uh-huh!
Will you be my guest?
I’ll be at the door – grinning like a crazy person – looking for you.
Stoked for sure. I plan to leave that place empty and full all at once…
Been waitin’ a loooooooong time.
Oh, I hope I’ll be able to make it Sunday! We’re moving this weekend so I don’t know what each day will bring other than exhaustion…but our new house is closer to FMU than Sandhurst so hopefully I’ll make it. Will there be childcare for 4.5 yr old?
Gillian, thank you for asking. As a mother of two, that should have been on my brain. Yes, yes, yes – the children’s programming (babies through 5th grade) will be up and running. And my girls are stoked about that too!
I hope your first service is just what you have imagined…and more!
Hope everything goes great. Glad you guys finally found a location. The college students are lucky to have you on campus. I will be praying for your launch.
Cookie, ever since I read about the church in your byline of She, I have been trying to figure out where the church was. Now I know!
Rusty and I are looking for a new church home and we might give yours a try.
Your second cousin (Woody’s first),
Martha Sessions Davis (Remember me?)
Melanie and Priscilla, thank you so much for your thoughtful encouragement as we look toward our first Sunday together!
Martha, of course I remember you, and would love for you to come. My parents will there too… Thanks for reading!
OH COOKIE!! I am so excited for this day to finally come for you all! I know how much prayer, tears, and trusting this has taken. God is SO good….and His graciousness and gifts to us seem even sweeter in cases like this where he calls us to wait and trust…..Finally, you will taste and see!!!
Love you Girl! Our prayers will still be continually lifted for this kingdom work to prosper and bring glory to Him!!
