Tenacious Grace is a nonprofit ministry dedicated to engaging hurting women from all walks of life with the message of Truth, strength, and hope in Jesus.
Our organization is one-part traditional women’s ministry and one-part jail ministry. We host a yearly women’s retreat, Tandem, generate teaching curriculum, speak at churches throughout the state, and create products and resources. In jail, we build relationships and teach the women currently incarcerated in Pod H of the Florence County Detention Center. All funds raised through our teaching curriculum, speaking opportunities, products, and donations are used to help us reach people with the message of Truth, strength, and hope in Jesus.
We are also currently raising funds and on mission to bring a free two-year recovery residence, Five Sparrows, for women who are survivors of abuse, poverty, addiction, and prostitution to the Pee Dee.

Cookie Cawthon
Ministry Leader – Writer & Speaker
Cookie Cawthon is the founder of Tenacious Grace–a ministry born out of her own personal story with Jesus. As a writer and speaker she has been blessed with the opportunity to use her gifts to create Bible Studies, lead ministries, and speak at churches and events of all shapes and sizes. Cookie is most passionate about reaching hurting people with the message of Truth, strength, and hope — which led her to a local jail ministry where she now spends each Sunday morning teaching, praying, and connecting with women. Lindsay Haselden
Creative Director
Lindsay Haselden is a creative connoisseur – with a passion for people, pixels, Jesus, and strongly brewed coffee. She loves being part of Tenacious Grace and having the opportunity to use her eye for marketing and design to reach more women with the message of Truth, strength, and hope. You can often find Lindsay behind a computer screen — writing, dreaming, and generating resources and designs for print, video, and the web.

Melanie Turner
Volunteer Director
Melanie Turner is our volunteer leader. She is heartfelt about helping people discover their potential in Christ and using their God-given gifts to serve others. Her background in business has provided great training ground for championing women from various walks of life. She works directly with people who believe in our mission and want to volunteer along side of us. She believes that we are most effective when we come together as a community and work towards a common goal.

Danielle Rhodes
Director of Events and Operations
Danielle Rhodes is an organizer extraordinaire. Her love for Jesus and people — combined with her ability to break a big thing down into all of its moving pieces — has made her an incredible asset to the TG team. She’s a wife. Mom. Underdog champion. Event organizer. Baby whisperer. And when not busy serving across many ministries, you can likely find her glued to a good book, or possibly The Great British Baking Show.

Wendy Fortier
Director of Details
Wendy Fortier is a wife, a mom to two adult sons and one newly acquired daughter ( through marriage), and an 80 pound Boxer. As a newly retired kindergarten teacher, she stays busy serving at her church through finance, ushering, and randomly feeding the production crew. She works part-time as a receptionist at Bethea Retirement Community, enjoys going to concerts with her husband, spending time with family, and reading a good book. She and her husband own a painting service, Fresh Coat of Florence, that offers eco-friendly interior and exterior residential painting to the Pee Dee area of South Carolina. Her compassion for serving and helping others drew her to come alongside the Tenacious Grace Ministry!
Mona Carter
Director of Fundraising
Mona Carter is a fundraising fanatic! She loves all things non-profit – including asking for money for a worthy cause. Mona is a total Jesus freak, wife, mama and a dedicated worker at her church. She is a champion for positive attitudes and culture, crazy about an uplifting Bible verse or quote, and will pass all of that along to anyone who will listen. She has 23 years of non-profit leadership and is currently trying out a new venture with her own consulting business – MTC Consulting – where she is passionate about filling in the gaps for companies, organizations and individuals so they can fulfill God’s purpose here on earth.
